FAQ

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT POWER ISLAND

GENERAL

Power Island is a compact and mobile Energy Hub, integrated into a 20- or 40-foot container, capable of generating, storing, and distributing energy efficiently and sustainably. It is ideal for powering electrical loads such as charging stations, temporary facilities, or remote sites.

Power Island is the ideal solution in situations where connecting to the traditional power grid is complex, expensive, or requires long implementation times. Thanks to its compact and pre-assembled structure, it avoids major infrastructure investments such as laying long cables or installing a dedicated electrical substation.
It only needs to be transported and placed on site to provide, within a few hours, an autonomous, safe, and optimized power source. This makes it particularly advantageous for temporary events, construction sites, remote locations, emergencies, or projects that demand flexibility and rapid deployment.

Power Island is particularly suitable when grid connection involves long waiting times, high costs, or the need for additional infrastructure such as substations or dedicated transmission lines. In these cases, the energy hub eliminates logistical complexity: it only needs to be transported to the site and activated, avoiding excavation works and complex permits.

Yes. Power Island is designed to provide stable and continuous power, with the ability to operate in fully off-grid mode. It can therefore replace fixed infrastructure in both permanent and temporary contexts, while also offering the flexibility to be relocated when needed.

Ideal applications include construction sites in non-electrified areas, temporary events and exhibitions, fast charging stations for electric vehicles in strategic areas, remote industrial sites, temporary logistics bases, and emergency situations where immediate and reliable energy is required.

Two formats are available: 20 feet (6 m x 2.4 m x 2.6 m) and 40 feet (12 m x 2.4 m x 2.6 m), both optimized to contain all necessary components.

It can be used both as a fixed installation and as a mobile system, easily transportable by truck or ship.

Installation and commissioning usually take just a few hours after arriving on site, thanks to its pre-assembled design.

In most cases, no building permit is required, but this depends on local regulations.

PHOTOVOLTAICS AND STORAGE

Power Island integrates 7 kW of photovoltaic panels installed on the roof of the container, capable of generating clean energy during daylight hours.

Not directly: solar production charges the storage system, which in turn supplies energy to the charging stations, together with the power available from the inverter and generator.

We use high-efficiency lithium-ion batteries, designed for rapid charge/discharge cycles and long service life.

Under normal conditions, they last more than 10 years or over 4,000 full charge/discharge cycles.

It depends on the charging source and the initial state of charge: from solar panels it may take several hours, while with the generator or the power grid the charging time is significantly reduced.

Yes, PowerIsland is scalable and can be configured with additional battery modules.

EMERGENCY GENERATOR

HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) is a biofuel derived from vegetable oils and waste fats, capable of reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 90% compared to traditional diesel.

It automatically activates when the batteries drop below a minimum charge level or in the event of load peaks exceeding the inverter’s capacity.

Yes, the control system manages all energy sources in parallel to ensure continuity and optimize consumption.

GRID CONNECTION

Yes. Power Island can operate either in fully independent off-grid mode or in parallel with the existing power grid.

Yes. When needed, Power Island can use the grid as an additional power source to recharge the batteries or to support loads during peak demand.

Yes. Any surplus energy generated by the photovoltaic system or unused by the loads can be injected into the grid, contributing to grid stability and lowering overall management costs.

The hybrid mode maximizes self-consumption of renewable energy while ensuring service continuity and reducing grid withdrawals during peak times. Moreover, thanks to its management software and integrated AI, Power Island automatically decides when it is more efficient to use internal energy, when to draw from the grid, and when to feed excess power back into it.

ENERGY MANAGEMENT & AI

The software continuously monitors generation, storage, and consumption, making real-time decisions on which energy source to use for maximum efficiency.

AI analyzes historical data and weather forecasts to optimize the use of solar power, batteries, and the generator, minimizing costs and waste.

Yes, remote access via web or dedicated app allows you to view performance, alerts, and real-time statistics.

Yes, Power Island can be integrated with photovoltaic systems, generators, or other existing energy sources.

CHARGING STATIONS

The basic system can power up to two 25 kW charging stations simultaneously, but customized configurations are possible.

Yes, the charging stations support the most common standards (e.g., CCS, CHAdeMO, Type 2).

The actual power may vary depending on the available energy and the priority settings.

SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE

Yes, it is equipped with advanced electrical protections, temperature sensors, and fire-prevention systems.

The container is designed to resist heavy rain, strong winds, snow, and high temperatures.

An annual check of the batteries, inverter, and generator is recommended to maintain optimal efficiency.

COMMERCIAL ASPECTS

Both options are available, depending on the customer’s needs.

Yes, we can adapt panels, batteries, inverters, and charging stations to specific requirements.

On average, between 16 and 20 weeks from order confirmation, depending on the chosen configuration.

In many countries, incentives are offered for renewable energy and electric mobility; we can support you in the application process.
